Josh de Boer
Senior Project Manager, Associate
Josh is an experienced leader in the transportation engineering industry that possesses a strong technical skillset. He has a passion for supporting the healthy development of communities through the transportation engineering lens. With a productive academic background and having served in both the public and private sectors, he has the in-depth knowledge to conduct a wide range of transportation studies.
Over his career, Josh has effectively completed transportation master plans, class environmental assessments, transportation corridor studies and transportation impact studies in both urban and rural municipalities across Ontario. He also has strong experience with connected and autonomous vehicles, traffic signals, active expressway management, large-scale rapid transit projects and site inspection.
As a Project Manager, Josh’s primary responsibilities include managing projects, organizing data collection, conducting field investigations, conducting and reviewing technical analyses, preparing reports and presenting findings in technical and public forums.
Beyond his immediate work focus, Josh volunteers for various transportation groups and committees. He is an active member of ITE, OTC, TAC and ITS Canada, presenting research and project results at conferences and symposiums. Outside of the office, Josh enjoys being active, playing soccer, beach volley, cycling and golfing. A long-time volunteer in his community, Josh was a volunteer for Oshawa NASC and a soccer referee throughout Durham for 10 years. His favourite books include On the Road by Jack Kerouac and The Power Broker by Robert Caro.
